1x Flat Eyeshadow Brush
1x Eyeshadow Blending Brush

Redemption Palette-
This is a really lovely palette that is filled with some amazing colours!!! The eyeshadows in this palette are very pigmented and extremely blendable, I love that this palette has some neutral shades and some pops of colour on there too!

Contour kit-
This 3 in 1 palette is lovely for bronzing highlighting and blush! The bronzer shade is great to as a lovely warmth to the face! I love this highlighter so much it's truly stunning and gives a beautiful sheen to the skin with out looking glittery! The blush is nice too but for me it's a little bit to shimmery, don't get me wrong I love a blush that glows but this aeems too much like glitter and a sheen!

Radient illuminator-
This would be really lovely if I could get it to work! I don't know if it's my brushes or the product but I don't seem to be able to get any product on the brush! So a little gutted about this!

Eye primer-
I love this eye primer! I was really worried when I got this that it was going to be like so many eye primers ice had in the past and be siliconey and make the shadows slide around during the day, but this is lovely and makes the shadows stay put and look really vibrant!

Liquid eyeliner-
This little mini baby eyeliner is so cute I love it! It's a great little liner to chuck in your handbag for on the go touch ups, but the thing I love most about this liner is that it has a glossy finish!

Amazing lipsticks-
This set comes with two of Makeup Revolutions amazing lipsticks in a nude and a red colour!! I love the lipsticks from this range anyway and I'm always happy to add more of them to my ever growing collection!

Intense lip glosses-
These glosses are really nice! I was expecting them to be sticky and thick but they aren't they are a lovely consistency thats also not to watery! The colours are nice too I prefer the shimmery one as it looks lovely over a nude lip but the pink is nice too!

Brushes-
I love love love Makeup Revolution brushes! They are inexpensive but really good!! I could rave about them all day long but that would soon get boring! What I will say though is if you get a chance to pick some up do so because you won't be disappointed!!

All in all I love this set it was a present from one of my best friends for Christmas and I hope that Makeup Revolution brings out one like this every year!!

Advent calendar pt 1

So I got a Ciate London nail varnish advent calendar this year and as there are 24 doors to open I thought I'd do a post after every 6 days and tell you a little bit about what's behind each door!!

So here is the advent calendar
It is very cute packaging with the little bows and bells on!! Very Christmasy!! I got this from Tkmaxx for £20 which is a bargain considering it retails for £50!

Day One-
When you open the door there is a message on the inside that reads "There is no better feeling than making somebody smile."
This is a nail topper called "Miss Mistletoe". It's a lovely little pot of glitters in gold, pink and red. I have swatched it as you can see in the picture and the reflect of the light on this glitter is amazing. This glitter would be overly to wear all over the nail or used to create nailart!

Day Two-
On the inside of this days door reads "Don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle."
The polish in day 2 was this beautiful clear polish with lilac glitters in! It is absolutely stunning! In this picture I did two very thin coats so as you can see the amount of glitters in this polish is ridiculous! I didn't top coat this polish either it is just on my nail as it comes out of the bottle and the shine on the nail is amazing! This is a great nail topper or could be worn layered up to create an opaque glitter finish!

Day Three-
The message on the inside of this door was "Beauty is whatever brings you joy."
The polish behind day fours door is called Meet me in Mayfair. it is this really lovely clear polish with strands or black, white, silver and lime green glitter. it really s lovely because the majority of the strands are black and white so you get the occasional hint if green and silver which really helps to break up the colours. This polish would be really really nice as a varnish topper or as an opaque polish if layered up!!

Day Four-
The message behind today's door was "Take the Ciate bow with you wherever you may go."
Look at the polish from day 4!! It is just stunning. Its called Members Only,
it is a really really beautiful peach polish with tiny glitters in it, the picture of the swatch of this polish really doesn't do this colour any justice. It really is one of the nicest polishes I own and I don't have anything that is remotely like it. I wouldn't wear anything else with this polish just a clear top coat to protect the longevity of it. I love love love it!!!

Day Five-
The message behind the door of day 5 is a quote from Danny Kaye- "Life is a great big canvas, throw all the paint on it you can."
This polish is called Encore, it is a really bright orange colour that unfortunately really isn't very Christmasy but its still very pretty. The pigmentation of this shade is amazing and it only needed one coat. this polish will definitely be a staple in my summer nail colours and I can't wait t use it.

Day Six-
There was another quote behind today's door, "Playing dress up begins at age five and never truly ends."- Kate Spade
I am really really in love with this shade, its called Pepperminty and even though the swatch picture makes it look blue it actually is a super pretty mint green colour. Its the perfect spring shade and I will undoubtedly be wearing it as soon as spring hits us.

So that was a run down of the first six days of my Ciate London advent calendar I will be doing another three posts like this one for the remaining days.

Make-up Revs contour and highlight collection

So I recently finally managed to get my hands on the Make-up Revolution contour and highlight collection that they have brought  out as a Christmas gift set. It comes with a contour kit, with a bronzer, blush and highlighter in, a large bronzer and three brushes.
I love the kit!!! I really do. The large bronzer is really good, it's matte and the right mix of warm and neutral tones that it doesn't look too orange or too ashy! The contour kit is great for on the go and traveling, the bronzer is slightly warmer than the other one but not to bad really nice as a contour colour with the other bronzer. The blush is lovely I have used it everyday since I bought the kit, it gives a really subtle rose colour that looks great along side the bronzer. The highlighter is nice but a bit pink for me I much prefer a gold highlight, but I do mix the highlighters it's the blush to give it a "glow from within" look. The large powder brush is really nice for all over bronzing it diffuses the colour and blends the product really nicely. The angled brush us great for contouring the cheeks as it really gets into the hollows of your cheeks bad round the hairline and temples. The duo fibre brush was good before it started to shed if it didn't do that I think it would be my favourite because it makes my highlighter go on really really nicely. I really recommend this kit to buy as a gift because it is a really good price and while you're at it you could pick up one for yourself too!

Makeup Revolution

So I found this brand through the explorer page on Instagram has a quick look at some of the pictures then redirected to the website. http://www.makeuprevolutionstore.com/index.php/
I immediately fell in love with the website as I scrolled through the products but true lust happened when I layed eyes on their lipsticks! And at £1 each they are such a bargin! I ordered their full vamp lipstick collection
And the Scandelous lipstick collection
The colours are really great!! I have found that they are better applied with a brush rather than straight from the bullet as you get a better colour pay off that way, and over blanked out lips. I also picked up their make up brush shampoo and brush cleanser. Both of which are anti bacterial which is very important when cleaning your brushes.
That was my first purchase with them from their website. I found that the brush cleaner is great for a quick clean between washes and the shampoo is great to leaves the brush hairs really soft and they both sme great. I then found out that they also have some stands in some superdrug stores. And.... I found one!!!! I dragged my boyfriend to the store to have a look as well (He was clearly thrilled:/) hehe! I picked up three items
The pro fix is really good feels so refreshing when you spray it on to and keeps my foundation looking good all day. The aqua seal I love it works just like the Illamasqua one but for a fraction of the price!! It's really good for mixing with pigments to pack colour on to the eyelid.
I also got this the Flawless eyeshadow palette too and I am in love i have used it every day since I got it the shadows are so pigmented and creamy the colour payoff is really good especially with the darker colours! Which I use daily as I'm not really one for "no make-up" make-up looks :) all in all I love this brand so far I will be getting more soon and can't wait to try out their sister brand I heart make-up soon too! Definetly a brand I would recommend very highly!!

My new make up storage

I recently updated my makeup storage because, well because I can! I love makeup but I have so so much that instead of the one draw that it used to share with my hair stuff it now has two draws! Did I mention that I practically live in a shoe box (crazy tiny room)! To maximise draw space I invested in these lovely vases from IKEA.
I have four of them holding my mass of brushes, those glass beads are also from IKEA. The vases cost £2 each but they look so beautiful and the beads were £1.50 for each tub (I used 3) and they make the brushed stand up taller than the rim of the vase. My makeup products now take up 2 draws in my 3 draw bed side table. The top draw is all my foundation, concealer, powder, primer, blush and bronzer
The draw spacers are also from ikea! And they cost £6 for six of different sizes. They are so handy and look really good in the draws! The next draw down holds all my eye and lip makeup (of which I have a lot!!)
I absolutely love my new storage but I would love a proper dressing table with a mirror and stuff but one say that will happen!!

My skin

I wish I could love my skin, I really do, but my skin has a habit of driving me crazy! Growing up I was lucky I never suffered with acne, I got the occasional spot here and there but nothing serious. For as long as I can remember though I have suffered with eczema it used to be only in small patches on my arms and legs, but now that I am older I get it on my face and it flares up due to stress! As I said in my previous post I have had a stressful couple of months, and having the eczema flare up on my face made me very uncomfortable. So the other day when I was on YouTube I watched a video on the Batalash Beauty channel of Angela talking about how she deals with Psoriasis (a similar skin condition to eczema) and it got me thinking about what it is I do that helps calm my skin when it flares up. So I thought I'd share it with you just incase any of you suffer the same things. First things first, I know it sounds so obvious but do not scratch, that's only going to make it red and sore and means you need to cover it up more.
So, I cleanse my skin daily with my Murad refining cleanser, this is a non drying facial cleanser, I just massage this into my face and neck and rince away. I also use a Sonicleanse but I only use this at most twice a week. This is a pulsing cleansing brush that I use with the same cleanser as before and it's timed so you only use it for 1 min any longer is going to be to harsh on your skin. I have found that since using the Sonicleanse I get fewer flare ups and if I do it helps to even out my skins texture without being too harsh.
After cleansing I use moisturiser the day cream in the morning and the night one before I go to bed. The day cream is super light and sinks in really fast, but is still really moisturising, this means you don't have to wait ages to put on makeup and hydrating makes the makeup not clump up on the uneven texture you may have. The night one is much richer and takes longer to soak into the skin. I love the night one because it is so moisturising that it really helps add moisture back to the spots I get my eczema.
When I get flare ups that are really bad I use a 0.1% steroid ointment that clears the skin. This is a medicated cream given to me by my doctor so always consult your doctor before trying anything like this because over use can cause serious damage to your skin. So that's everything I do to help keep my skin looking nice, apart from being in the sun (with SPF on of course) and drinking lots and lots of water. Hope this helps and if you have any questions just ask
