Make-up Revs contour and highlight collection

So I recently finally managed to get my hands on the Make-up Revolution contour and highlight collection that they have brought  out as a Christmas gift set. It comes with a contour kit, with a bronzer, blush and highlighter in, a large bronzer and three brushes.
I love the kit!!! I really do. The large bronzer is really good, it's matte and the right mix of warm and neutral tones that it doesn't look too orange or too ashy! The contour kit is great for on the go and traveling, the bronzer is slightly warmer than the other one but not to bad really nice as a contour colour with the other bronzer. The blush is lovely I have used it everyday since I bought the kit, it gives a really subtle rose colour that looks great along side the bronzer. The highlighter is nice but a bit pink for me I much prefer a gold highlight, but I do mix the highlighters it's the blush to give it a "glow from within" look. The large powder brush is really nice for all over bronzing it diffuses the colour and blends the product really nicely. The angled brush us great for contouring the cheeks as it really gets into the hollows of your cheeks bad round the hairline and temples. The duo fibre brush was good before it started to shed if it didn't do that I think it would be my favourite because it makes my highlighter go on really really nicely. I really recommend this kit to buy as a gift because it is a really good price and while you're at it you could pick up one for yourself too!

Makeup Revolution

So I found this brand through the explorer page on Instagram has a quick look at some of the pictures then redirected to the website. http://www.makeuprevolutionstore.com/index.php/
I immediately fell in love with the website as I scrolled through the products but true lust happened when I layed eyes on their lipsticks! And at £1 each they are such a bargin! I ordered their full vamp lipstick collection
And the Scandelous lipstick collection
The colours are really great!! I have found that they are better applied with a brush rather than straight from the bullet as you get a better colour pay off that way, and over blanked out lips. I also picked up their make up brush shampoo and brush cleanser. Both of which are anti bacterial which is very important when cleaning your brushes.
That was my first purchase with them from their website. I found that the brush cleaner is great for a quick clean between washes and the shampoo is great to leaves the brush hairs really soft and they both sme great. I then found out that they also have some stands in some superdrug stores. And.... I found one!!!! I dragged my boyfriend to the store to have a look as well (He was clearly thrilled:/) hehe! I picked up three items
The pro fix is really good feels so refreshing when you spray it on to and keeps my foundation looking good all day. The aqua seal I love it works just like the Illamasqua one but for a fraction of the price!! It's really good for mixing with pigments to pack colour on to the eyelid.
I also got this the Flawless eyeshadow palette too and I am in love i have used it every day since I got it the shadows are so pigmented and creamy the colour payoff is really good especially with the darker colours! Which I use daily as I'm not really one for "no make-up" make-up looks :) all in all I love this brand so far I will be getting more soon and can't wait to try out their sister brand I heart make-up soon too! Definetly a brand I would recommend very highly!!

My new make up storage

I recently updated my makeup storage because, well because I can! I love makeup but I have so so much that instead of the one draw that it used to share with my hair stuff it now has two draws! Did I mention that I practically live in a shoe box (crazy tiny room)! To maximise draw space I invested in these lovely vases from IKEA.
I have four of them holding my mass of brushes, those glass beads are also from IKEA. The vases cost £2 each but they look so beautiful and the beads were £1.50 for each tub (I used 3) and they make the brushed stand up taller than the rim of the vase. My makeup products now take up 2 draws in my 3 draw bed side table. The top draw is all my foundation, concealer, powder, primer, blush and bronzer
The draw spacers are also from ikea! And they cost £6 for six of different sizes. They are so handy and look really good in the draws! The next draw down holds all my eye and lip makeup (of which I have a lot!!)
I absolutely love my new storage but I would love a proper dressing table with a mirror and stuff but one say that will happen!!

My skin

I wish I could love my skin, I really do, but my skin has a habit of driving me crazy! Growing up I was lucky I never suffered with acne, I got the occasional spot here and there but nothing serious. For as long as I can remember though I have suffered with eczema it used to be only in small patches on my arms and legs, but now that I am older I get it on my face and it flares up due to stress! As I said in my previous post I have had a stressful couple of months, and having the eczema flare up on my face made me very uncomfortable. So the other day when I was on YouTube I watched a video on the Batalash Beauty channel of Angela talking about how she deals with Psoriasis (a similar skin condition to eczema) and it got me thinking about what it is I do that helps calm my skin when it flares up. So I thought I'd share it with you just incase any of you suffer the same things. First things first, I know it sounds so obvious but do not scratch, that's only going to make it red and sore and means you need to cover it up more.
So, I cleanse my skin daily with my Murad refining cleanser, this is a non drying facial cleanser, I just massage this into my face and neck and rince away. I also use a Sonicleanse but I only use this at most twice a week. This is a pulsing cleansing brush that I use with the same cleanser as before and it's timed so you only use it for 1 min any longer is going to be to harsh on your skin. I have found that since using the Sonicleanse I get fewer flare ups and if I do it helps to even out my skins texture without being too harsh.
After cleansing I use moisturiser the day cream in the morning and the night one before I go to bed. The day cream is super light and sinks in really fast, but is still really moisturising, this means you don't have to wait ages to put on makeup and hydrating makes the makeup not clump up on the uneven texture you may have. The night one is much richer and takes longer to soak into the skin. I love the night one because it is so moisturising that it really helps add moisture back to the spots I get my eczema.
When I get flare ups that are really bad I use a 0.1% steroid ointment that clears the skin. This is a medicated cream given to me by my doctor so always consult your doctor before trying anything like this because over use can cause serious damage to your skin. So that's everything I do to help keep my skin looking nice, apart from being in the sun (with SPF on of course) and drinking lots and lots of water. Hope this helps and if you have any questions just ask

Lily Lolo

I've not been a fan of mineral foundation in the past, I always found them to dark for my really fair skin making me look orange, but I really wanted to find something that I could put on when I just wanted a really light natural coverage for if I'm doing everyday stuff! So I searched online for mineral foundation for pale skin and I came across Lily Lolo cosmetics they are a UK brand (Which I love! Support the British brands as much as I can!) At first I was a bit weary as I don't use mineral foundation so I didn't know what shade I was, so when I noticed I could order samples for £1.50 each I ordered the 3 lightest shades they do (Porcelain, China Doll and Blondie.)
In this photo I used a mix of Porcelain and China Doll on my skin over my Illamasqua hydra veil and I love the outcome! I will definitely re-purchase these two shades in full size, I liked the Blondie shade to but not as much as these two together! Highly recommend this brand the foundation gives a lovely light to buildable coverage that still let's skin show through. Can't wait to try their other products!

Hello

Welcome to my new blog, here I will be sharing, product reviews, make-up tutorials/pictorials and my journey from becoming an aspiring make-up artist to a fully fledged make-up artist (that's the big dream)

So a little about me, I am 22 and I work a normal job to fund my extensive make-up addiction!!!! And it really is an addiction, I honestly can't walk past a make-up store with out going in, much to the despair of my boyfriend. I love high-end brands but I'm a sucker for drugstore brands, they are just so reasonably priced!

My dream is to be a make-up artist and I will be sharing this journey with you hopefully helping anyone else who might be going through the same things as me (I'll be as much help as I can).

That's enough from me for now,
